MANAGEMENT VACANCY – CLASSIFIED SUPERVISOR

CAMPUS OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION

SALARY: $74,489 – $100,125/YR. (Range 28, Management Salary Schedule)

COMMENCING: As Soon As Possible

Basic Function: Under the direction of the supervising Academic Dean, assist in the management and operations of campus operations, support staff, custodial/maintenance staff, and other related employees at both the Sutter County Center and the Beale Air Force Base Outreach Campus. Coordinate the physical plant maintenance, ensure the security of the center, and coordinate its usage by community college partners and community agencies. Relieve supervising administrative staff of routine administrative details and coordinate communications with staff and the public. Exercise direct supervision over support personnel, evaluate assigned classified staff, and perform other related duties. Process administrative details independently, including preparation of reports, coordination of functions, communication of administrative procedures for the campus, creation of technical and complex documents, and other administrative support duties. Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS OPERATIONS AID MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES
• Coordinate the physical plant maintenance, ensure the security of the center, and coordinate its
usage by community college partners and community agencies.

• Exercise direct supervision over support personnel, evaluate assigned classified staff, and
perform other related duties.
• Process administrative details independently, including preparation of reports, coordination of functions, communication of administrative procedures for the campus, creation of technical and complex documents, and other administrative support duties.
• Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned.
• The Sutter County Center Campus Operation Director will also work closely with the Colusa Campus Operations Specialist and will be required to work at the Colusa Center from time to time in order to ensure sufficient coverage of and coordination and communication with the Colusa center.
• Assume responsibility for the operational services of the center.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, inspect and supervise the work of assigned staff at an assigned college campus; assign regular work schedules; train, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel; participate in interviewing and selecting new employees; assist classified staff in student services in the overall coordination and performance of duties as necessary to assure the smooth operation of the site operations.
• Participate in budget planning, preparation and administration including cost estimates for budget recommendations for college budgets; monitor and reconcile campus budget, review reports, and maintain records of expenditures; post expenditures to appropriate accounts; prepare budget transfers; prepare and process purchase requisitions according to approved procedures.
• Assume responsibility as the cashier for the campus and manage all weekly deposits, whether to
the main campus or to banking institutions.
• Work directly with college partners, community groups and community service programs regarding facility rentals and community events; coordinate building usage with college partners and community groups, overseeing associated calendars, budgets and contracts; secure services for partner and community group activities, i.e. police, technicians, and grounds, and possibly provide on-site supervision of events held at campus facilities; ensure facility use complies with applicable codes and permits (i.e., fire/health codes and noise permits).
• Confer with administration, faculty and staff concerning set ups for college, administrative and community events; assure timely cleaning and setting up of equipment for meetings and special events; determine and report dangerous and unsightly conditions to Maintenance and Operations staff and administrators.
• Coordinate ADA facility projects and insure accessibility. Participate in the planning and design of maintenance, and scheduled or deferred maintenance projects; develop plans and schedules for on-going and long-range maintenance and short and long-range replacement of equipment; communicate with maintenance staff to resolve unscheduled maintenance problems and requests.
• Ensure the security of the center; establish and maintain systems and related reporting in the areas of loss prevention and plant security including alarm systems and special security devices; participate in the development and improvements to campus emergency and contingency plans to ensure responsiveness in emergency situations. Recommend changes necessary to correct deficiencies.
• Manage key and card distribution for building access; manage all auto-door and alarm systems; interface with law enforcement agencies as necessary; oversee student security workers and monitor campus safety, reporting hazards and taking corrective measures.
• Participate in the coordination of scheduling classes with the main campus; monitor course changes.
• Oversee the delivery of campus auxiliary services, including bookstore, safety, and food services; coordinate parking services, one-day permits, and suspension of parking permit enforcement, as needed, with the YCCD Police.
• Implement policies and procedures and schedule testing, orientation, and counseling sessions as assigned by the position; oversee assessment and DSP&S testing at the center; coordinate DSP&S services for students as needed.
• Assure transmittal of information to facilitate operation of the center; contact staff, faculty and administrative personnel on other campuses to transmit or request information as required.
• Act as a key contact for student issues/complaints and make appointments for students to meet with appropriate administration regarding complaints.
• Keep accurate and detailed minutes for all assigned campus meetings.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate, by the filing date must have any combination equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and
ethnic backgrounds in a community college.
• Knowledge of working with HSI (Hispanic Serving Institutions) colleges
• Work collegially and collaboratively with diverse constituencies, both internal and external;
• Be a strong and articulate proponent of higher education.

* This position is anticipated to be assigned to Sutter County Center and Beal AFB Outreach but may be assigned temporarily or permanently within the District.

BENEFITS/SALARY: The District offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees and dependents, for positions whose FTE is .60 or higher, valued at over $23,000 annually with currently no out of pocket expenses to employees or dependents for medical premiums. The Yuba Community College District spans eight counties and nearly 4,200 square miles of territory in rural, north-central California. Yuba College was established in 1927 as the founding college for the Yuba Community College District. As one of two colleges in the District, Yuba College is located in Marysville, CA in the growing north central valley region just north of Sacramento.
